Dragon Boat Festival is coming, ZMIE will be closed from May 31 to June 2. Normal operations will resume on June 3.
Some Dragon Boat Festival customs:
1. Dragon Boat Racing
People race dragon-shaped boats to commemorate Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet in ancient China.
2. Eating Zongzi
Glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, filled with ingredients like red beans or meat, are a traditional food.
3. Wearing Sachets
Colorful sachets filled with herbs are worn to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck.
4. Hanging Mugwort and Calamus
These plants are hung on doors to repel insects and purify the air.
5. Tying Colorful Wristbands
Red, yellow, and green wristbands are tied on children's wrists for protection and health.
